I was a happy earthlink DSL customer for years. (Service was pricey but excellent) Then connection started to fail constanly. Tried for months to get problem resolved. \"Customer Service\" reps are either incapable or unwilling to actually provide assistance. (\"Help\" includes, but is not limited to: reading exclusivly from scripted material, hanging up in middle of call, not returing call, losing privious trouble shooting file info...)Finally, I couldn\'t bear further torture by \"Customer support\" reps from Hell, so I cancelled my service. (Yea!!) Sadly, this used to be a great ISP. Now, I hate Earthlink!

I used Earthlink for about 4 year until I had a problem with their customre service. Foreign reps who barely spike English and even those who spoke it ok were no help at all. Got so frustrated that I canceled my account and went with my cable ISP. Been happy ever since

I can\'t get any support from these people. They don\'t listen to anything you say and only pick out key words, then appear to read from a useless script. I signed up for DSL for one agreed to price and when I called because of the bill they told me I was mistaken and the plan I was sold didn\'t even exist. That is really obnoxious, because I wouldn\'t have signed up at the price they now want to charge. I\'m going to attempt to cancel, but I bet they\'ll claim that the 30 day period I had to cancel that the sales lady told me about doesn\'t exist either.

This is the WORST ISP in the business. Foreign aassciates in the phillipines who cannot help you to save their lives, and everyone there is so unresponsive. They used to have better service but now they only want to help you if you pay to signup for another contract. Their equipment is lousy andt hey want more money. they will take NO responsibility for replacing it for you. they are Also way too expensive.DO NOT go with EArthlink for any of your tech needs. You will be sorry.

I signed for ADSL - what a mistake! It ALWAYS has problems. Their support is from a foreign country and the last time I called the rude female customer representative told me I wasn't an earthlink customer - that was the problem. I am currently trying to cancel this service and will never use them again. Incidentally, I have used them on dialup for about 5 years and it worked, though expensive. At one time their customer service was exceptional, but now it's next to worthless: "try turning your computer off and on" is all I hear. They have little or no training at all. Looking for something that simply works!

Where we live the speed of the service is not determined by Earthlink, but our local phone service provider. We travel lot, and I have been impressed with the number of local dialup locations that Earthlink has. We have never stayed in a town that does not have an Earthlink dial up service number.

Service and speed was lousy. When I went to another service and de-installed it, it hosed my computer so bad that I had to reinstall the operating system and take it back to 'out of the box'. Will NEVER put their software on another computer!

they seem to only think that people are online for the world wide web. Their Usenet servers are often down, full of incompeletes, or otherwise slow. also, they have a 5 gig per month cap on each account. If you just want to use the web go ahead, there is no difference between any other cable or dsl, but if you want to do anything else, stick with roadrunner or whatever your local cable company offers.
